This map and guide contains; a full colour map of the entire National Park at a scale of 1:100,000, a comprehensive gazetteer of places to visit & things to do and notes on the history, geology and wildlife of the area. It is ideally suited to both the planning of your visit and your exploration of the park. Information on the map has been grouped into different categories for easy reference, these are marked on the map by an individual symbol. Alternatively, if you wish to locate a facility by its type, then use the gazetteer to make your selection and locate it on the map using its map reference. To highlight what is available within the park; places of interest such as museums, gardens & visitor centres and things to do such as bike hire, loch cruises & pony trekking have been shown with a green star symbol. Facilities such as cafes, hotels and public toilets have been shown with individual designed brown symbols, the colour chosen to match the brown visitor information road signs located around the park. Large scale maps of the major towns have been included to show facilities available within these important centres.
